Invisible text is a real Unicode character that occupies a position without drawing anything. It is not a trick or an exploit — it is how you send an apparently empty message, keep blank lines in a bio, or set a blank name in a game.
Which character to use
They are not interchangeable, and this is where most guides go wrong.
**Hangul Filler (U+3164)** is the one to try first. It belongs to the Korean character block and exists to hold space in Hangul layout, so platforms treat it as a real character rather than whitespace.
**Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800)** is the best backup — a legitimate braille cell with no dots raised.
**Zero Width Space (U+200B)** is the one most guides recommend and the one most likely to be stripped, precisely because it is used this way and platforms filter for it. Try it last.
The three things people use it for
**Bio spacing.** Instagram collapses blank lines, so a carefully spaced bio publishes as a block. An invisible character alone on each blank line stops the line being empty. The same works on TikTok and YouTube.
**Blank messages.** Chat apps refuse to send nothing. Paste an invisible character and the send button activates.
**Invisible names.** Free Fire, PUBG and BGMI accept them as nicknames. If one is rejected, paste two or three — still invisible, and the field now sees enough characters.
Test it before you rely on it
The commonest failure is not the character but the copy. If a page shows the character inside brackets so you can see where it is, you may copy the brackets instead.
There is a test box on this page: paste your copied text in and it counts how many invisible characters survived. Zero means the copy did not work — and you know that before spending a rename card or saving a broken bio. For visible decoration instead, see text symbols.
Invisible characters count toward character limits like any other, so a bio with three blank lines spends three of Instagram's 150 on spacing. On TikTok, with around 80, the trick is much less practical. The bio generator builds the spacing for you.
FAQ
What is an invisible character?
A Unicode character with no visible glyph. It is real text — it fills a field and moves a character counter — but displays as nothing.
How do I copy an invisible character?
Press Copy next to any character above, then paste it wherever you need it. Use the test box on this page to confirm the copy worked.
How do I send a blank message on WhatsApp?
Copy the Hangul Filler, paste it into the message box — the send button activates even though the box looks empty — and send.
How do I make an invisible name in Free Fire or PUBG?
Paste one or more invisible characters as your entire nickname. If a single one is rejected, try two, or use the Braille Blank instead.
Why is my invisible character not working?
Some platforms trim characters they classify as whitespace. Switch from Zero Width Space to Hangul Filler or Braille Blank, which survive far more often.
Is using invisible characters allowed?
In bios and messages, yes — it is ordinary text. Some games discourage blank names in their terms, so check before using one competitively.
